Trainer's Profile 1: Dr Uswah Khairuddin

Dr Uswah Khairuddin received PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College London in 2017. Her PhD research was on Turbocharger design optimization where part of the project in under collaboration with Caterpillar Inc. Her PhD was funded by the Government of Malaysia under the Ministry of Higher Education. She also holds Master by research in Electrical Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). Her research was on optimization of automatic tropical wood recognition system. Her bachelor’s degree is Mechatronics Engineering from International Islamic University Malaysia. Currently, she is working as an academic staff at the Department of Mechanical Precision Engineering, Malaysia-Japan Institute of Technology (MJIIT), UTM and a member of Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics (CAIRO) UTM. Her research interest includes artificial intelligence, optimization, machine vision and pattern recognition. Dr Uswah Khairuddin has co-authored several journal publications and supervised postgraduate students. As an academic staff, among her duties were to carry out research, teach, and perform administrative work. She is currently the faculty coordinator for Final Year Project where she initiates and developed a fully online assessment management system and students’ three-minute-thesis seminar. She also designed introduction to artificial intelligence module for mechanical course and currently developing a basic artificial intelligence module for Malaysia’s lower secondary school as part of her consultancy project. She and her team members were one of the six recipients of Malaysia Research University Network Young Researchers Grant Scheme 2019 worth around €50,000 for their project titled ‘Precision Veterinary Surveillance System to Support Dairy Youngstock Rearing Decisions’. This project development includes a precise calf weight estimator based on machine vision and artificial intelligence.

Trainer's Profile 2: Dr Anis Salwa Mohd Khairuddin

The Trainer received the Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from the Universiti Tenaga Nasional, Malaysia, in 2008, under Yayasan Tenaga Nasional scholarship. She obtained her Master of Computer Engineering from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT), Australia in 2010 and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, in 2014. She is currently working as a senior lecturer at Department of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of Malaya, Malaysia. Her Master and PhD degrees were funded by the Government of Malaysia under the Ministry of Higher Education. Her research interest includes artificial intelligence, optimization, data analysis and pattern recognition. Dr Anis Salwa has published several ISI journal publications and is currently supervising postgraduate students in the area of artificial intelligence. As an academic staff, among her duties were to carry out research, teach, and perform administrative work. She is currently the department coordinator for Final Year Project. She is currently developing a basic artificial intelligence module for Malaysia’s lower secondary school as part of her consultancy project. As for international linkage, she is the focal point for Subcommittee Microelectronics and Information Technology (SCMIT) ASEAN COSTI since 2017 where she is actively involves with ASEAN related research activities. Besides that, she is also a member of Institution Engineering and Technology (IET).

Trainer's Profile 3: Dr Azlin Ahmad

The trainer received her PhD from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) Kuala Lumpur in 2016. She received her Bachelor of Information Technology (majoring in Artificial Intelligence) and Master of Science (Intelligent Knowledge-Based Systems) from Universiti Utara Malaysia in 2001 and 2003. Currently, she is working with Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) as a senior lecturer at the Department of Information. Her research interest includes machine learning, data analytics, image processing and its applications. As an academic staff, among her duties were to carry out research, teach, and perform administrative work. She is currently the Programme Chair for Bachelor of Information Systems (Hons.) Intelligent Systems Engineering Programme, and former Coordinator for Master of Data Science Programme. She is a member of Malaysia Board of Technologist (MBOT) and also the Key Opinion Leader of ASEAN Hydroinformatics Data Centre (AHC).
