Course Synopsis

The trade war is among the most crucial aspects of the trading world and economy.  Some situations can give rise to the trade war and hamper the economy.  However, the situation may also create new investment opportunities.  In this course, we will discuss the concept and rational behind the trade war and its impact on the investment world.  Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to have a good understanding of the concept behind the trade war and be able to apply these concepts on client advisory in relation to investment and market analysis.

Theang Kok Foo

Kok Foo is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of California, U.S.A with over 25 years of experience in the financial sector. He is a seasoned financial advisor who started his career as an auditor with Ernst & Young in Washington, D.C. where he was a member in both the financial audit and computer audit team.  He joined the investment industry as an equity dealer upon his return to Malaysia in the early 1990s.   In 2003, Kok Foo was appointed as a mentor by Bank Simpanan Nasional Micro Credit program.  In 2007, he was appointed to the Board of Visitors of Hospital Kuala Lumpur by the health minister. Furthermore, Kok Foo has contributed greatly to the financial literacy education sector of the country by conducting financial seminars and workshops, specifically in the areas of accounting, finance and investment since 2008. He conducts CPE classes regularly on topics relating to economy, capital market, portfolio management and financial analysis. In addition, he has also served as guest lecturer at various local colleges and universities and helped in preparing candidates for ACCA and Real Estate Licensing Board examination.  Kok Foo pursued his higher education in the United States, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from University of Louisiana and Master of Science in Accounting from the University of Delaware.
