Course Synopsis

This course is designed in such a manner to provide the participants with hands-on experience in how Shariah stock screening works. The major concepts covered include the methodologies, similarities and differences in practice between the providers of Islamic Indices as well as the application of the screening on real case scenarios.

Zairulnizad Shahrim

Zairulnizad Shahrim was the Chief Executive/Principal Officer of AmIslamic Funds Management Sdn Bhd (AIFM). He was also an Executive Director for AmIslamic Funds Management and responsible in driving the Shariah-compliant business and at the same time to ensure compliance on regulatory and Shariah related to the products and services offered by the organization. As an Islamic product specialist for the organization, he has over 20 years of experience in the Islamic capital market & investment banking, Islamic financial services and Islamic funds management industry. He has been involved in extensive number of Islamic syndications and capital markets transactions which includes Sukuk, private equity and venture capital, unit trust funds, Islamic REITs, derivatives and structured products issued by corporates, Government as well as GLCs . Zairulnizad graduated from University of Nottingham, United Kingdom with a Masters in Finance and Investment. He is a British Council Chevening and Securities Commission of Malaysia Scholar. He holds the Capital Markets Services Representative’s License for the regulated activity of Funds Management, license as a Unit Trust Consultant and Certified Islamic Financial Planner.
