Course Synopsis

“Work for the affairs of the world as if you are going to live forever but work for the Hereafter as though you will die tomorrow” (Muhammad bin Abdullah).

 

This well-known saying of the Prophet Muhammad encapsulates the essence of Islamic teachings relating to wealth management but not many people grasp its full meaning or how it is applied. This course seeks to assist participants to understand the shariah perspective, principles, processes and procedures of generating wealth efficiently through the right financial instruments whilst maintaining positive cashflow and mitigating risks.

 

It also seeks to clarify available wealth preservation strategies so that those in the financial services industry can help themselves and their clients towards constructing a viable and sustainable wealth management plan in line with the shariah.

Trainer

Azman Ismail

Azman has been in the Islamic finance industry since 1985. He is an external lecturer for the Master in Islamic Banking and Finance (MIBF) program at the Institute of Islamic Banking and Finance (IIiBF) and International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). He is also a Course Consultant and Member, Board of Studies at the Institute. He has written many articles and six books and translated and edited four books from Arabic into English and has been commissioned by the Institute for Islamic Banking and Finance (IBFIM) and the International Centre for Education in Islamic Finance (INCEIF). He has also been consulted by the International Shari’ah Research Academy for Islamic Finance (ISRA) and ISRA Consultancy Sdn Bhd. He was a Director for Malaysia for the Life Underwriter Training Council (LUTC), Bethesda, Maryland, USA. He was also a Member of the Information Panel, AmanahRaya, the Public Trustee of Malaysia, a member of the Shariah Committee of Munich Re Retakaful and a Shariah Adviser to six Labuan retakaful operations. He has also lectured at the Malaysian Insurance Institute (MII), Islamic Banking and Finance Institute of Malaysia (IBFIM), PNB Investment Institute, Institut Latihan Islam Malaysia (ILIM), Akademi Percukaian Negara, Institut Latihan Kehakiman dan Perundangan Malaysia (ILKAP), Bank Negara Malaysia and many other public and private institutions.
